This post started as a Facebook status I was going to share, but with time it turned into much more.
No matter how many Facebook posts you share and/or like stating how much cancer sucks and shouldn’t exist, it will not help eradicate cancer or help develop new treatments or improve current treatments.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and unfortunately unlike many other cancers, you won’t hear as much about it. The NFL won’t be sporting gold; you won’t see many-if any-commercials promoting funding for research for pediatric cancer; and you won’t see loads of people walking around with t-shirts that say “Save Our Kids From Their #1 Killer of Death by Disease.” Ok that would be hard to put on a t-shirt, but still. Actually, except from those of us inside the pediatric cancer community, you probably won’t hear a thing.
